Yesterday afternoon I stepped out from my front door funny and twisted my right ankle. It hurt like crazy for about 5 minutes, but then I was able to go along on my way (and on my foot). Several hours later, my ankle started to hurt. But, to make a long story short.... after an evening and night of not being able to walk on my foot at all without sobbing, Lance took me to the ER this morning. Apparently, I sprained my ankle and possibly tore a ligament (or ligaments). I am now in a splint and have crutches.
Well, I don't feel like writing a whole lot, but I can say....crutches are not any fun! I think I would do better without them, and I hope they get easier to use with practice!

15 Weeks
The baby didn't cooperate today, so we didn't get to find out the gender. I go back in two weeks, so hopefully everything will work out better then! Everything looked good though, so things are going great! In the picture, be sure to check out the skeleton head! :) It looks a little creepy, but that's just because the baby hasn't gotten any fat on his/her bones yet! Also, you can notice that the baby is posing...his/her hand is on his/her cheek! Very cute, eh?

End of the Year Randomness
Christmas is over already! We had a good holiday and now we're looking forward to 2009. I don't have much to write about, but just thought I'd let everyone know that I'm still alive and well. The pregnancy is going great....slow, but great! I am now over 14 weeks, and we're anxiously awaiting for my next doctor's appointment next Wednesday. Hopefully, if the baby cooperates, we'll find out the baby's sex. I'll be posting new pictures soon! :)

10 Weeks 6 Days
I went back to the doctor yesterday and everything looks great. The baby was moving around like crazy. Arms, legs, and hands were flinging around everywhere...until I laughed. Then the baby decided to rest all of a sudden. ;)We should be able to find out the sex on Dec. 31. Until then, you may or may not hear from me! It seems like this is turning into more of a baby blog than anything else!

Baby Update
We went back to the doctor today and everything is looking good. In this ultrasound picture you can see the baby's head. I think I can also see knees, eyes, and a nose. The heart rate was 175, which is really good. The baby is 1.93 cm. I was told that I needed to be gaining more weight...my doctor wants me to have gained 3 pounds by the time I see her again in two weeks. I have never been told to GAIN weight...crazy! ;)I have been feeling good as long as I take my nausea medicine. I still feel waves of it coming on, but I don't get to the point of vomiting or anything. I'm tired all the time and have become a big fan of naps! Also, I have a due date of June 24, 2009.
One more thing... for all of us who know us, be sure to make guesses on our online baby pool at http://www.expectnet.com/games/LilDean.

New Ultrasound Picture
I went back the the doctor Tuesday, and this is what the little "Butter Bean" looked like then. It's amazing how much the baby grew in only five days!! Lance and I got the hear the heartbeat, too. That was very exciting!

Conference
Nothing really to write about, but I thought that I would give it a shot!
My birthday was this past week. Nothing really special, it just went by like a normal day. My mom cooked supper for me (and the rest of my immediate family) Friday for a belated birthday meal.
I spent most of the day today hanging out with Amy. We had a lot of fun, as usual!
I need to be packing tonight. I'm leaving tomorrow for a three day teacher's conference. We'll see how that goes!

Small Success
The yard sale went okay. We did not do as well as we did last year, but it wasn't completely a bummer. I did sell my sofa and chair, so that was nice! :) Lance and I used the money that we made to buy a new couch. It's comfy, but I'm still getting used to it! It seems to be a lot bigger and "fluffier" than the old one.

Yard Sale!
Come see me in Chunky tomorrow and/or Saturday for a yard sale! Lance's mom and I are having one (with help from our husbands, of course!) at Lance's mamaw's old house. We'll be there from 1-6 on Friday and 7-until on Saturday, so be sure to drop by!
Also, I'm trying to sell my sofa and matching chair. If you've been to my house, you know how comfy they are, so come on and buy them!! :)

Presidential Election...Come on Already!
Okay, so I'm really getting tired of all the mud-slinging going on about the upcoming presidential election! I don't really like either of the candidates, but I'm tired of all the lies going around (for Obama especially). I'm definitely not saying that I'm voting for him, but please...if you're going to sling mud, at least get your facts straight!

Yes, I'm Alive... I think...
It has been crazy around here lately! I don't have much to write about, but I figured that since it had been a while (and since Jenn asked!...haha) I would write an update.
This will be very brief without a lot of thought, but let's see...
My uncles are doing good. I hate to say that I cannot tell you much, but I do know that they are doing good.
My mom and I went shopping at the outlet mall in Gulfport a few weekends ago. I always enjoy spending time with my mom, and shopping is always great (well...at least if you have money!).
My cousin and her husband adopted a baby last week. It was all a very big surprise, but we are all excited for them!
Work has been VERY stressful this week. I'm into my fifth year of teaching, and I'm starting to have doubts about myself and my chosen profession. People at work are really getting on my nerves...friends there are becoming "few and far between"; our new math program is terrible, and it seems to spend a lot of time on skills that are not even in our third grade curriculum; my students are whiny; some of my students' parents have no respect for their children, for me, or for education; I have a room of thieves; and I even had a student use the restroom on the playground this week. (And no, I'm not just talking about him wetting his pants....) All of that is just a small drop in the bucket of things that are going on, but that's all I care to share.
Well, maybe this all proves that I am still living and breathing (last I checked anyway). Feel free to send me money or job offers, just don't ask me what's going on...I don't want to talk specifics about my problems. Also, it seems like the people I'm around just try to make their problems sound worse off than mine AFTER they have played the "caring card" to ask me what's going on. I don't enjoy competing with "friends" about who has it worse.
Also, I'm sure this is full of grammatical errors, but don't feel like I'll get a kick out of you pointing them out to me. You would probably be the one to end up getting the kick... ;)

Sigh
I made it though my first full week of school for this school year. It has been rough, but I always feel that way at the beginning of a new year. I feel like I have an okay group, I just hate getting a new class used to handling new routines. When they come to third grade, they all seem like babies wanting someone to do everything for them. Hopefully, when they leave me, they will know how to do things themselves! I am just hoping that the ones who are responsible now will help me out with the others.

*YAWN*
School started Tuesday for students and I am beat! It's so nice to know that tomorrow if finally Friday. As of now, I have 21 students. That seems to be a pretty good number (less would also be fine!) so I hope that it does not grow any more.
My uncle with colon cancer is doing great. I saw him Sunday for lunch at my parents' house (I blogged about that before) and he looked really good.
The other uncle that I blogged about got some pretty bad news. He went for tests in Birmingham yesterday and found that the cancer he had in his throat has spread to his abdomen. Because it has spread like it has, they will not be able to do surgery. From what I understand, he will be going next week to see if there is a treatment (like chemo or something) that will help.
Well, that's all the blogging that I have the energy for. Please continue to keep my uncles and their families (my families) in your prayers.
